This is a well managed, beautiful and clean hotel in a perfect location. It’s right next to the convention center, the North Market (indoor market with international and specialty food vendors) and all the great restaurants and bars on High Street (downtown Columbus’ main street.) The rooms are large and well-kept, breakfast was excellent and the employees are friendly and professional. One of them really stood out: Tariq the valet manager. This was an extremely busy weekend (huge music festival, OSU home game, convention, etc) this young man worked long hours the entire weekend and was cheerful and helpful every time. We will recommend this hotel to friends and will stay here again if in the area.

We had a Beautiful Wedding next door at The Greek Annunciation Church. The Hampton Inn was perfect spot for our guests. The rooms were clean and the daily breakfast was excellent. We had over 50 rooms for multiple nights that Tiffany helped us coordinate. There was another group of people from the Lost Lands Concert also staying at this hotel, but they were super nice and courteous. Noise level for the weekend was ok, Friday Night had some activity on High Steet but nothing major. The Hotel is in walking distance to plenty of restaurants and bars in the Short North and Downtown. You can also walk to Nationwide Arena, the Clippers Stadium and the Crew Stadium. Clifford at the front Desk and the Valet team treated us very well. I would stay here again. Valet Parking is $45/day but you can park on the street after 10 PM for free.

I hate to leave a bad review of any business but I am highly disappointed. I am a Honors member and I booked directly with the hotel. I was told that my Honors Member rate would be booked for the full stay. At check in, the reservation I made was not even for the correct number of nights. I booked for Wednesday thru Sunday but they only had my block of rooms for Wednesday and Thursday. We were told to come down and check out and check back in the following day. When we came down in the morning to take care of this, that front desk person said we should not have had to check in and check out and move rooms even though this is what we were told upon arrival. We then find out that our rate has gone from $187 to approximately $500 a night for the remaining stay. Of course we are shocked. We went to speak to the manager and he was not willing to meet us in the middle to find a solution. He gave us a hard no and said you won't find another hotel in this area for the remaining days. We found another hotel, three rooms left and did not stay and found other accommodations. I think there were enough issues with our reservations and being told a different story depending upon who we spoke with that the hotel. It is unfortunate that they seemed to not care to loose guests and two rooms. I am truly floored by the switch and bait and also that management/staff really seemed to not be bothered. We might only be 6 guests total but they just lost customers who that will never book with this hotel chain again.

We very often choose Hampton because, while they differ in quality from hotel to hotel, they are consistently clean and comfortable. This particular hotel has three strikes for me. First, the shower has a head that is clear across the shower stall from the adjustment handle. And it’s is nearly impossible to set the right temp. It’s also impossible to fully explain, but suffice to say, annoying as all hell after several minutes of freezing to scalding. Second, during my three night stay my room was never made up. Bed never made, trash, towels, coffee. Nothing. Third, and speaking of coffee, the in room coffee is crap. The cheapest and worst in-room maker and pods they could find, for sure. And the pods use so much plastic! Such a waste. And each individual paper cup is separately wrapped in plastic. I’m all for plastic for cleanliness but this is just an abundance of waste and pollution. The people are really nice though. But this is all corporate greed. They’ve lost a loyal customer.

We stay in Columbus a lot for volleyball tournaments, and this is the nicest and most convenient hotel. Last time we stayed, we were upgraded to a corner suite too, which was awesome. Valet is nice to have too as this is a busy spot.
