tripadvisorJust steps from the amazing Cleveland Museum of Art and all the surrounding beauty, we had a wonderful visit. The rooms are comfortable and quaint and the building is gorgeous and spotless. Breakfast foods were top notch but disappointingly cold. In the evening we sat out in a courtyard and enjoyed a beautiful evening. The atmosphere is perfect and romantic. I will definitely return.
MoreCharming place and very friendly staff. It doesn't seem like it was restored by people who know anything about historic buildings or period restoration, but that's what makes it affordable, and in spite of that, it is a beautiful building with a lot of charm.
MoreA wonderful hotel - staff all welcoming - location superb for walkable access to CWRU campus, cultural sites - rooms well appointed and extremely comfortable - complimentary breakfast very nice. Parking is $17 per night - which I didn't mind because the lot is surrounds the side and back of the hotel. Highly recommended - should be a Traveler's Choice selection - a gem in this surprisingly visitable city.
MoreSad to see plastic utensils & paper napkins at breakfast. We've stayed at the Glidden many times on our way driving to & from WI & always loved the luxury of the Glidden after mediocre breakfasts w/ plastic at Hiltons. We LOVE the Glidden's location & hope these breakfast changes aren't a slippery slope of decline. It's the little things that make for a quality, boutique hotel.
MoreWe spent 2 nights at the Glidden House while visiting Cleveland. The Hotel is lovely, in a former mansion, right near Case Western University and the museum district. It is also very close to Little Italy. The rooms are lovely, well appointed and comfortable. There is a patio on the side of the building which is great for relaxing and enjoying a book or the newspaper on a warm day and a small bar in the lobby for cocktails. Breakfast is served daily and was OK. Choices included eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast, pastries and muffins, fruit and oatmeal. The eggs and other items were lukewarm at best and probably could do with a different way of keeping things heated. The hotel is very quiet at night. Diners have a choice to eat in a dining room or a sun room just off where the food is served. The sunroom is lovely and the best choice. There is parking available on site for a fee.
