tripadvisorWe were truly looking forward to our evening on the showboat and they cancelled it an hour before our pick up and was told they had a special event tonight! So bad! How’d they not know this days ago. We had this booked for weeks. Now it’s so late to find anything else special to do!! Do not book this! Absolutely disgusting
MoreCruise and show were great. Lunch was very good. My only issue is with the souvenir photos. We paid 40 bucks and were given 1 nice size picture and 3 smaller ones. The girl that we paid for the pictures stated there was a card in the package with a code to download your digital pictures. Problem is the code on the card does not work. Tried the code on each picture and that does work. Problem is the girl we paid made that sound like the digital photo was free. Nothing was ever mentioned that it wasn't. If there was a fee it should have been mentioned up front or at least on the card with the photo code. Won't ever pay for this again.
MoreWe are excited to go on this cruise, and we boarded around 6:20 PM, 40 minutes before disembarkation. The boat is great, but the photo opportunity before you board is absolutely shocking, the photo that they take is really quite far away and does not capture much of the boat at all, they present it to you later on during dinner alongside three green screen photographs that look absolutely terrible. These photographs look like they are from a green screen in 2005. Then to try and charge $41 for the package is an absolute disgrace. On board, we really enjoyed the experience, and while I think that the drinks were expensive, I did accept it.We sat down to eat and realized quite simply how hot and disgusting the dining room was. While I’m sure the company will explain that the boat is old and has challenges with air conditioning, the boat was built in 1985 and so really not that old, it is just poorly maintained, which is surprising given that it is owned by the Gaylord Hotel. You can see this on the upper deck, where they’ve installed temporary air conditioning units, which I do accept in peak summer as it gets very hot, but I find it very odd that they just tape it off with red caution tape. Get a piece of rope! The food was actually very good, considering it is a buffet, although queuing up in the heat for the food is a little frustrating. I spoke to one of the managers and told her that we were not happy about how hot it was, she offered to try and move us to another table, but we had already finished our meal and I told her we wouldn’t be back to the table. We went outside for a while and only came back in when the entertainment started, the entertainment is actually quite good, but the overall experience is ruined by the entertainment going on for far too long. The whole river experience is probably 30 to 45 minutes too long, and you can tell that they slow the boat right down before it docks again, just so the entertainment can finish their entire performance.I would really question whether any senior executives from Gaylord Hotel have actually been on their river cruise recently and sat through the entire entertainment performance. The restrooms really aren’t in great condition, and while I’m sure it can be said that the boat sits on the river and is affected by bugs and such, the cobwebs inside the men’s bathrooms had clearly been there a long time.We enjoyed the overall boat, the food was good and the entertainment was good, but quite simply given how long the experience is when it doesn’t really need to be that long, we will not return.
MoreThis boat needs to be retired immediately. The only saving grace of the entire experience was the entertainment. It was 95°+ in Nashville, and as we boarded, a staff member casually asked us, “Are y’all aware of all the mechanical issues we’ve been having?” Unsurprisingly, no one had emailed or notified us in advance. We were then informed:• The A/C was completely broken, but a cooling system was keeping the dining room at 70–72°F.• There had been a hole in the bottom of the boat (though a welder allegedly fixed it).• The boat hadn't been out on the water in over a month. We gave them the benefit of the doubt regarding safety and the cooling system. However, the dining room doors were locked prior to departure, so we couldn't verify the temperature until we were already out on the river.Once inside, the cooling system turned out to be a single tall fan for the entire room. In 95-degree heat, it was unbearable. On top of that, the vessel itself is severely neglected—the carpet is filthy and disintegrating under your feet with every step.Boarding passengers in extreme heat with no working A/C and active mechanical problems is completely unacceptable. Save your time and money.
MoreWe have been coming to Nashville for a couple years and tend to fall into the same patterns, we wanted to try something new and this was perfect. Great views of the Cumberland, the City Skyline, relaxing, has a delicious buffet, and they top it off with a great show that gives you that Old School Nashville vibe with fresh entertainment. Highly recommend for anybody.
