tripadvisorThis was my second visit to the UC theatre and it is a very good place to hear live music. Nice sight lines and great sound. The staff is friendly and the venue is clean. Little Steven was fun and loud.
MoreKind of a mix between the Fox Theater and the Fillmore. Great drinks with plenty of bars. Really good sound! Large standing room only floor and plenty of other places to stand. Only a handful of places to sit so if you need to sit down you should go really early. There is an ADA viewing area available. I can’t wait to go again!
MoreOn 5/27/2018, went to a concert after waiting outside for 30 minutes. “Limited seating” meant 10 small tables and lots of chairs above a standing- only area. Half the tables were Reserved and a staff member kept us from sitting there. Limited food and wine, beer, and four mixed drinks were available at the bar. A waitress came around once. I had a plastic cup of red wine for $10. The volume was high and the acoustics need improving. I could not understand words sung. This theater is a non-profit, educational venture for students of theater arts. It’s in downtown Berkeley and parking in a garage few blocks away is best.
MoreWe saw Aimee Mann & the sound was impecable. We were down on the ground floor, standing only, the way a gig should be. Never felt to crowded, spacious, high ceilings, great lighting and down to earth staff. Great venue, lucky Berkeley.
MoreHeard that a band that we saw over July 4 wknd would be at this new place and decided to see them On Saturday night. So glad we did. The Venue was perfect for those who either want to dance near the band or sit and have a drink in the back. We noticed that people can reserve tables as well.. The drinks were not too expensive and they also have a small food menu. The dance floor was not too crowded..Sound was great!!and another big plus was that there were at least 10 stalls in the Women's room.
