We saw La La Land live in concert, and the musicians are absolutely first-class. Wow! A memorable and truly exceptional performance, in a beautiful venue.

The lobby is large and spacious, able to accommodate multiple bars and a merchandise table. The theater is large and comfortable with good sound. The staff are friendly and helpful. We walked to the venue from a hotel, but there seemed to be parking nearby.

Shame on the C$ O. An organization that really seemingly only cares about money. On CSO website they talk about inclusion and making decisions with community input. Those are LIES. Coney Island and Sunlite Pool are victims of their hypocritical greed.

It was a great evening of professional music- top level performances. Performers were approachable following the performance. An added plus.

On a whim, we got cheap seats for the CSO's performance of Northern Lights. Since we live a couple of blocks from the Taft (where they are playing for the season during the Music Hall renovations), it wasn't a big time or money investment. The CSO has been disappointing the last few times I've attended -- technically competent, but soulless performances of music they've played far too often. Not that night. The music was fresh, including CSO debut pieces, the soloist (Jennifer Koh) delightfully unpretentious in her performance (unlike the cellist I had to stop looking at because she insisted on overacting her virtuoso performance, presumably because her music was only OK), and the conductor amazing. Really, who couldn't love a a man who resembled a teenager with an Einstein-inspired hairdo, wearing plain black, with an untucked shirt that allowed his bright read underwear to peek out when his conducting got especially animated. A pure delight. More CSO, much more of the same, PLEASE!!
