Make sure you take the elevator to the top floor and find a front row sear for a beautiful view of downtown Indianapolis.

Very quiet for the most part. If you really need solitude, reserve one of the small rooms on the 2nd sloor.

Unfortunately it was too early to go inside when I walked by so instead I enjoyed the outside art and Greek style architecture. Towering behind the Central Library was the newest addition all in glass. On each side of the entrance was the thinmanlittlebird sculptures in two parts. The thin man to the left towered above the library. The little bird, perched on a black donut like sculpture was so small in contrast. Read the plaques to get more understanding of the intent. Overall It was a nice way to add modern touches to the building. The final piece of external art was the biblio-bison which recognized many of the famous Hoosier authors and their books.Very enjoyable and would like to come back again to explore the inside.

Hard to be quiet in such a awesome library. Every corner you turn you are learning something new. Not just books, and magazines; art work. meeting rooms, cafes. You could spend all day letting your brain grow. The building itself is wonderful. Check out a book and relax on the lawn for book worm junkies who just can never learn enough. Great staff, good parking
