tripadvisorThis is a much-needed green space on the Lower East Side and we walked through this park while we were exploring the tenements of the East Side. Lots of trees so there was a lot of welcome shade on a hot day.
MoreSara D. Roosevelt Park – This park feels long, open, and very community-oriented. It offers numerous sports courts, playgrounds, and spaces for relaxation, making it a true neighborhood park for residents. I like its functionality and variety, which ensure that everyone can find a place here—from athletes to people who simply want to sit and unwind.
MoreThe community garden was closed for renovation, but the courtyard was open to walk through. It was quiet on a Tuesday morning with almost no one around. Tulips were in bloom, adding a splash of color. Through the gate I can imagine the garden in all its spring glory, aside from the supplies and equipment blocking the way. It should draw many visitors in spring and summer.
MoreThe Sara D Roosevelt park stretches along 2nd Ave. it’s 7.8 acres in total. Basketball, all weather playing pitch as well.
MoreWe were in Chinatown and the kids needed to burn some energy. We found this park on our walk. Very lively with a nice playground and sand pit. Good stop. Also some courts. Benches are a little old, but at least there is a place to sit and watch the kids play.
