tripadvisorWe visited Gallery 202 this morning and had the best experience. The art work is stunning, the antiques are museum quality and the history held within the walls of this beautiful historic home is incredible. To walk through the same doorways as former presidents and brave men and women from the civil war was such a unique experience. The warmth of the building was special but what made the visit even more memorable was the conversation with the artist, Kelly Harwood, and Jim McReynolds. Their efforts to keep the history alive and honor the people, past and present, who have stepped foot on the property will encourage me to visit every time I find myself in Franklin, TN.
MoreGallery 202 – Kelly Harwood, Owner and ArtistAs an interior designer, every project begins with listening—understanding how my client wants her home to feel and selecting partners who respect that vision. After exploring several local galleries, I visited Gallery 202 in Franklin, TN, where we were able to see many types of art pieces and met artist/owner Kelly Harwood. A true gentleman and a natural collaborator, Kelly brought not only talent, but a thoughtful, client centered approach to the process.Kelly was exceptionally easy to work with. He listened carefully, offered insightful suggestions, and demonstrated a keen understanding of both styling and scale. Most importantly, when it came time to commission the piece, he created an experience that felt comfortable and unpressured. My client never felt obligated or rushed; instead, she felt supported and confident in her decision. Kelly made it clear that her satisfaction was the priority—so much so that he genuinely believed the piece would find the right home if it wasn’t hers. In that moment, any pressure often associated with custom work simply disappeared. While architectural elements provide structure, it’s the art—the jewelry of the home—that completes the story. Kelly’s work does exactly that. Each piece feels intentional, perfectly proportioned, and seamlessly integrated into the design. The result is a space that feels finished, welcoming, and deeply personal—art that doesn’t just occupy a room, but elevates it.Shari Watkins Interior Design
MoreWe spent close to an hour enjoying the variety of art work in Gallery 202, making a purchase and, most of all, talking with Jim McReynolds the Gallery's manager. It is a must stop when walking the streets of downtown Franklin.
