tripadvisorIt was a surprise to see this memorial to John F Kennedy in Main Street Fort Worth but on November 22 , 1963 JFK made one of his last public speeches outside the Hotel Texas in Fort Worth and this memorial was designed to remember that event. It comprises a bronze statue and a plaque with his inaugural address as President and some other historical data on a large curved wall. interesting and worthy of a visit.
MoreA very tasteful and fitting tribute to the man, and so appropriate to be right outside the hotel he spent his last night. I hadn't realised the significance of Fort Worth to the story until I came heard and read that he'd visited and given two speeches here just before going to Dallas for that fateful day.Dallas, take note. This is how you do a memorial tribute.
MoreFor those of us who were kids in school or adults in Nov. 1963, thismonument right outside the Hilton in the background, is where he gave his finalspeech. He then got in his car and was murdered minutes later.
MoreThis monument is located in Ft. Worth, not too far from Sundance Square. It's a nice tribute to JFK.....doesn't take too long to view. The downside was the solicitors asking for money.
MoreIt is more meaningful for people 65 years old and up. It was the location of President Kennedys last speech. Right next to the Hilton hotel on This location.
