We were definitely lucky that we got the Caddo Lake tour from Captain Ron. Imagine that. The beginning of the day. It's a little cloudy. It's a little foggy. You get out of the car. And you are greeted with a friendly smile by a wonderful woman in a bright suit - the captain's wife, surrounding you with care from the first words and steps. Captain Ron himself is waiting for you in the boat. He is an excellent connoisseur of this place and a wonderful storyteller. And the journey into the fairy tale begins.We are experienced travelers. But we have never seen such enchanted places. On the shores of the wonderful lake there are mighty cypresses, from the branches of which Spanish moss hangs almost to the water. You are floating on the surface of the lake under Ron's stories. And suddenly a huge white heron takes off nearby, and a little later a gray one. And you don't stop admiring seeing different birds, the rays of the sun breaking through the fabulous branches. You fall out of reality for several hours. You are alone with nature. But everything ends sometime. Ron swims to shore. His smiling wife is already waiting there, who wishes you a good journey and new meetings. And you definitely want to return to Caddo Lake and meet Captain Ron's family again.This is a trip that everyone should have. Don't waste your time. The impressions are priceless.

This is our second trip with Captain Ron. Caddo Lake changes with the seasons. Our host is a dynamic, knowledgeable and passionate spokesperson for Caddo lake. I plan on visiting again in July to hear the frogs and see the fireflies...rather like The Princess and the Frog.

This is my second time with Captain Ron. I am from Dallas and I drive folks visiting me out here because it is an amazing place and because Captain Ron really shows how amazing it is. He explains geology, biology, fun films done there, ongoing conservation, beauty, birds, wildlife. It is an amazing tour all around. I highly recommend!
