16th Street Mall Shopping Center & Mall ·$$

The mall is a mile-long, tree-lined promenade stretching through the heart of downtown. Bustling with street vendors, souvenir shops, clothing and jewelry stores, and a plethora of bars and restaurants, this energetic strip offers plenty of variety. The Denver Pavilions, at the entrance of the mall, is a new open-air shopping plaza filled with trendy chains, including the Denver edition of the Hard Rock Café. The D & F Tower, a 325-foot (100-meter) replica of the Campanile (bell tower) in Venice, graces the center of the mall. The Tabor Center adds to the shopping enthusiasm. Free shuttles provide transportation up and down the mall, allowing for convenient cross-town sightseeing.

It was a sunny August day but there were a lot of beggars and people lying around on the ground. I was glad to get back to Stapleton.

Not many stores to shop most are closed. Plenty of restaurants with dirty store fronts. Not the welcoming entrance that would make you want to eat there. Lots of homeless. Dirty sidewalks with poop on them so watch your step!

Great location downtown. Lots of nice shops. I appreciated the free bus rides for the mile long strip. Good access to restaurants. Not a lot for kids to do. Older teens/adults are target demographic for this “mall”. Warning fir those with small kids: lots of unhoused individuals, some drunk at all points of the day and shouting obscenities.

16th Street Mall is a quintessential Denver experience. Stretching over a mile through the heart of downtown, this pedestrian-friendly thoroughfare offers a great mix of local charm and urban energy. You will find a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and outdoor cafes perfect for people-watching. The free MallRide shuttle is incredibly convenient, making it easy to hop between the various blocks without tiring your feet. I particularly enjoy the mix of historic architecture and modern amenities; it’s a lively spot to grab a coffee, catch a street performer, or walk toward Union Station to admire the city’s stunning revitalization.

I attended a one week convention in Denver. The 16th Street Mall was a daily adventure for different types of food. One night I had a delicious chicken salad, another night I had pizza, and another night I had 2 scoops of Gelato. The vibe was awesome with so many people on the street. And the weather was beautiful.
