This looks like a nice park. We drove there because it advertised kayaking and rentals. I checked their website before we went. When we arrived, everything was locked up. I wish the website would have been updated There is a pay gate, would have been nice to know ahead of time, even at the gate.

Contrary to what others have written, the park is not difficult to find. It is off the beaten path a bit, there are signs and few turns off the main road. There is an entrance fee of $4-5. Plenty of parking. Large red barn for special events, playgrounds, picnic areas, and hiking trails. Trail along the St. Joseph River is pleasant, but but views of river are obstructed at various parts of the trail.

My husband and I were there for a college cross country meet and we decided to find the park the night before the meet. It's a good thing we did. Entering the address into our GPS directed us to the maintenance facility. The entrance to the part was quite a bit farther away and we had to search for it. The park itself is literally on the Indiana/Michigan state line. It's a big place, but we didn't really see a whole lot of it....the runners saw more than we did! It's a typical park with play equipment for children. The personnel close the gate at 5:30 PM local time, though, so don't plan an evening visit. I'm sure this would be a lovely place in the spring/summer, but in the fall there's not a whole lot to see or do. I'm sure the locals know a whole lot more than we do, though.

A beautiful place to visit. We enjoy walking the trails. We have see eagles, fox, deer ,owls, osprey among other woodland creatures. We take our dogs walking most times. There is a very nice payground for the kids. Many pavillions to rent for get togethers.

My daughter had her senior pictures taken here and you would think they were taken at several different venues. There are beautifully landscaped sitting areas as well as well groomed trailes. They have rest rooms in a building near the parking are. There are well groomed trails as well as an Apple orchard and a place to fish down by the St. Joseph River. You can rent the buildings for special occasions and they have special things that go on here on occasion. I believe you can even go sledding here.
