Fun way to spend a few hours watching the kayakers go down the river. I didn’t go down just watched. Afterward we walked over and had lunch at the Howard Park Public House outside. Good food and right next to the water park so fun to see all the laughter at the park.

I've always seen this happening, but never had any clue what it was or anything, so one day when I was walking past and noticed not too long of a line ahead of me, I just got in it. It moved quickly. The anticipation was similar to getting on a roller coaster. I didn't know anyone in line and had nobody to talk to or ask questions, so I was left to my own imagination/devices on what to expect which probably played into my anticipation. I couldn't really dwell on it too long though because before I knew it I was being asked how many. I was like is it okay if it's just me and they're like sure! come on get in! and without any instruction or so much as a you're getting in right/wrong I got into a canoe for the first time in my life and got handed a paddle. I watched the people in front of me intently to see how they moved about and got let go and started down the river. THe whole ordeal was probs maybe 2 solid minutes. I am a fairly/ I would say 7.5-8/10.0 athletic with a lot of strength and weight training, no experience, and I did fairly well I didn't tip or fall over but I almost did once on the concrete pylons near the apartment building/Seitz Park. I was able to stabilize myself pretty quickly, but, it was scary for a second. The other scary part was I wasn't exactly sure where it stopped - the answer is where it rejoins the main river at the end of The Pointe apartment complex - and I had quite a bit of speed going by the time I hit the end and barely noticed the guy throwing the rope to me out of the corner of my eye. I was able to grab it in time but it was still a bit of a struggle to pull myself out. I wish there were people or a sign that was like look to your right! at the man like, lassoing a rope overhead. I was going fast enough I would have probably made it to like the hospital area downstream a bit before I had managed to stop. All in all I was very glad I did it ,and that I hadn' t thought much about it before I just jumped in . I wouldn't recommend for frail or elderly people though, and regardless of what enthusiasts and the staff say, it's probably not to be underestimated, it's not some harmless family friendly activity like, a merry go round or a ferris wheel. It's like muscle exertion, work, coordination+balance, steering your raft and staying upright while traveling in rapidly moving water.

My family and I had a blast! We flipped and it will be one of funnest memories for us! The staff is all super helpful and we are all so glad we went. Great team building adventure for all of us. Only downfall is that the life-vests smell horrendous. My shoulder smells like an armpit. Regardless… we had a great time!!

All around great day. This activity is safe. Quick ride down the east race -- probably less than 5 minutes., but lots of fun. We had 4 adults in a raft and there was plenty of space. If you fall out, follow the instructions and you will be thrown a rope to keep you safe. Plenty of lifeguards -- spaced out every 500 feet. They also have support staff in kayaks in the waterway. Advice... bring old shoes (no flip flops allowed), and clothes that you don't mind getting soaked (even if you don't fall in). The walk back to the starting point was about a 10-15 minute walk, but plenty to see as you walk along the waterway and reminisce on where you almost went overboard. The staff will let you leave your car key with them at the ticket trailer so you don't lose it. No need to bring a towel or change of clothes -- leave them in the car. There is nowhere to change, so you might as well just drive back home or to the hotel in your wet clothes. Very friendly staff of young adults are very helpful. They give you a brief overview of instructions and help you get in and out of the raft. You can purchase tickets in advance online for a particular day, but not a particular time. This type of activity would cost $10 - $40 in a traditional resort town. $6 is a steal. Only open on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer. Free parking available nearby and on streets. Can't believe I have not done this despite living in town for 15+ years. We will be coming back many times in the future.

You are risking your own life by going here. I am an adult woman and a pretty good swimmer and I literally almost died here. I got dumped out of the raft and got caught in the currents and absolutely almost drowned! After trying to make it through the whole thing, the guy that checked everybody in is also the one that came to rescue me....but it was almost too late! There are also newspaper articles of people that have died here although I am not seeing a lot of reviews like that on here or google which blows my mind bc it was the most dangerous thing I’ve ever done in my life and it was just supposed to be a leisurely family thing with our baseball team. The absolute scariest day ever! I also can’t believe they let any age go on as long as they are with and adult - a child (or adult) will die here for sure! PLEASE BEWARE!!!
