I stopped by, but unfortunately, it was closed to the public for a private event. Even though I wasn't able to go inside, the grounds and exterior are exceptionally well-kept. There is informative signage outside that provides a nice background on the history of the home and property, making it a quick, enjoyable stop anyway.

The Museum is only open a few hours a day, a couple days of the week. I checked the website to verify operating times several times.I was finally able to get a vacation day on one of the days they operate. We arrive in the 2-6 window and the bldg is all locked up. No sign on door, nothing referenced on website. Turns out they have a sale at a different site and closed the museum. I wanted to share a good childhood memory with my daughter here. With the shortened hours of operation and this disappointment, we will not return. It took too much planning. They need to keep this information front and center for visitors to know. Going to The Henry Ford Museum for us.

Walked in and found a wonderful gentleman inside volunteering who is passionate about the building, Dearborn history and the civil war. John told us some great stories about the city and some of the items of interest located here. The door windows are a great idea, not sure why we don’t still do that?! Spent about 2 hours here, and then hit the historic pastry shop for a treat.

Henry Ford is one amazing man!!! I cannot even imagine what his thoughts were on a daily basis were. However, he did want to do one thing and that was preserve history and this 1880s village is exactly what that is and that is exactly what he did down to all the items in each one of the shops and oh by the way the custard is amazing too!!!

Lots of Detroit history here. The dioramas were well done. Places to sit if you needed to do so. Great car where you could have your picture taken. Pleasant staff.
