tripadvisorEvery December we to go Port Townsend, stay at The Swan hotel, and see a play at Key City Public Theater. We saw Bake to Alaska last year in 2024 (so funny) and Scrooge's Big Christmas Show in 2025 (a comedy as well!) People at the theater are so welcoming and they really put on a fun, entertaining show. I love that the December show is usually a comedy, and it's just perfect for the holidays to have a laugh. The director danced for donations at the beginning of the show, which was amusing and delightful. It's a charming town filled with charming people. I highly recommend the theater experience if you are staying in Port Townsend.
MoreA must do. Just saw our second performance. Both were superb. Redd performers also added athleticism to their performance and impromptu comments, incredible. Won't give anything away. trying to see when the next show will be can't wait to come back. Loved that all ages attended and enjoyed it all. Get to Redd NOW
MoreI love Community Theatre, but this was an absolute stunning performance for a theatre that is so small. The enthusiasm of this group and the quality of this group are a find. Prices are reasonable too. Last night I saw “Sea Marks” and there was not one “ho-hum” moment. I am planning a return trip to Port Townsend next year so I can see more.
MoreI have been to three performances at this theater and each was an excellent experience! The two musicals - Murder Mystery and Daddy Long Legs were top performances! The sets, production, music and actors were thoroughly professional. You are immersed in the events due to the size of the theater. Whether you live in Port Townsend or are visiting I highly recommend. The only down side is they are often sold out! If Christa Holbrook is singing, you are in for a real treat!
MoreI was an invited guest. There was a beautiful food function benefit before the play. It's very small and intimate....the four actors entered and exited through aisles and were up close and personal. It was an interesting experience (a singing murder mystery). I'll look forward to having another experience in this venue.
