My train was leaving very early so I had to stay near by. I saw other receipts when I checked out, I paid almost 3x what other people were paying for a standard room. Why?? Hate flex pricing. Hotel was weirdly cold, my room was set to 65 and with plastic floors and marble tables it felt frigid. No bathtub, only shower. Window had a calcium deposit so the view of the parking lot was obscured. Room was immaculately clean.

I booked a one-night stay at Hotel St. Regis in Detroit for August 14, 2026. Unfortunately, I never actually stayed at the hotel because I was so dissatisfied with the condition of the room.As soon as I entered the room and saw its condition, I turned around and went back to the front desk. I explained that I was not satisfied and could not stay in the room. The staff member told me there were no other rooms available and advised me to contact Agoda regarding a refund.I followed those instructions and contacted Agoda immediately. Because I had to find accommodations at the last minute, I ended up paying approximately double for another hotel.I was especially disappointed because this property was advertised as renovated. Based on the room I was assigned, that description did not match what I personally experienced.To make matters worse, I am now having to go through an extended process trying to obtain a refund even though I checked out immediately and never stayed in the room.Travelers should know about my experience before booking. Had the room been in acceptable condition or another room been available, this could have been handled very differently. Unfortunately, neither was the case, and I cannot recommend this hotel.

Came to town to help my daughter move in to The Boulevard Detroit apartments (5 minute walk.) Stayed 2 nights. Room was large and clean. Bed was comfortable with plentiful, good quality pillows. Mini fridge with 2 free waters. Room faced the busy street and an outdoor patio adjacent to a bar, so it was noisy but the air conditioner/ fan canceled that. (I also had a noise machine and ear plugs.) I slept very well. This hotel is also very convenient to Henry Ford hospital and Fisher Theater.

I would like to say I am writing this review to discuss my stay. However, what has happened instead was that I made a reservation for this hotel on January 16th, 2026 and was just notified today (5/6/2026) that my reservation for the 5/9/2026 was was not successfully transmitted into our inventory. When I called the number listed I went to a voicemail that did not even reference the hotel and that could not accept messages. I have spent a lifetime travelling for a living, and I have had some bad circumstances, but I have NEVER been told that a reservation with a confirmation number was not available and that absolutely nothing was going to be done about it. Stay away from this place like the PLAGUE!

dirty. stains, holes in walls, dusty, chipped cheap furniture. Toilet seat just walking into the hotel room was so gross. don’t stay here. it’s sad because the property could be so much better with some professional tlc.
