tripadvisorWe needed a place to stay on very short notice to attend a funeral for a family member. Being RV’ers we found the WH Lion fair grounds to be the easiest and most reasonable facility to stay for a couple of nights. They do not take any reservations and are first come, first serve. We called and talked to Tim when we were about an hour away and he told us he had room and to call us when we got to the gate. Tim met us there and led us right to a site with full hookups! He made sure we could get into the site, and came back 20 minutes later to make sure all was well and we had a nice 15 minute visit! The price of $40 / night for a site with full hookups is crazy reasonable, and about 1/2 the price of other area campgrounds. Tim could not have been more accommodating and that was appreciated! The July 4 fireworks that night on the fairgrounds were an added bonus! If your looking for a place just to stop for a night or two and don’t need a pool, playground or other facilities, this is a great spot right off I29 on the west edge of Sioux Falls.
MoreGreat stop over place when traveling with horses; nice, big paddock for the horses to stretch out and move around, nice sites! The grounds were nice and clean and easily accessible from the highway. No much to eat within walking distance but, short distance to drive and eat.
