Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing due to the cleanliness and condition of the rooms. The first room we were given had an unpleasant odor and was not clean, so we had to return to the front desk and request a different room. The second room did not have the odor, but it was also not properly cleaned or vacuumed. There was even a sock left by a previous guest next to the couch. The carpets had noticeable stains, and the room appeared dated and in need of updating. There was also significant water damage on the ceiling near the patio door. In addition, the shower curtain rod was bent downward, making it difficult to keep the shower curtain closed. A/C does not work well at all and room gets humid.Overall, the condition and cleanliness of both rooms were below what we expected from a hotel, and several maintenance issues clearly need attention.

The property itself was very nice. Facility was clean, room very spacious and comfortable. While there were places where the age of the property was evident, nothing which was at all repulsive or unacceptable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. McDonald's and Buffalo Wild Wings withing walking distance. The only parts of our one-night stay that I would consider issues all dealt with some of the other clientele which made me question security. While I have nothing against pets staying in hotel rooms, a pit bull lunging at me in the parking lot was a bit unnerving. If there had not been a leash between myself and that dog, I would not be here to type this review. Of course, the dog owner/guest had complete disregard for the incident. As I was checking out, I noted a very damaged car pull up to the lobby entrance, a young lady exit the passenger's door, walk into the hotel, use the lobby bathroom and return to the car. By this time, I had exited the hotel to note that said damaged car reeked of marijuana. However, most of the other guests were like us and in town for a college football game. Breakfast was so-so. I would stay at this property again as the room was much to our liking.

The people working at this hotel are TERRIFIC!! Helpful, professional and friendly!! We were especially impressed by Lucy, the front desk clerk and Tracy the manager. Lucy was especially fantastic in helping us out and we could not be more grateful. Thank you!

This was always my first choice while staying in Lansing. The breakfast was horrible, it used to be wonderful: latte coffee machine, chef cooked your food, different choices each day, muffins or rolls not there now. The room was ok but no luggage rack, no rail to use while getting into tub to shower, toilet lid had huge section out of it, then ever time the heater turned off-a huge moan rattle noise. No tvs playing in lobby like it used to be, no happy hour Friday evening, and clerk at front desk was not very approachable or cared about your experience.

We stayed in room 335 for 1 night. Previous years we have stayed at this hotel quite often and really loved staying there. This time was different. The breakfast has become less, they didn't even have ketchup available until it was finally found ! The breakfast is a hot breakfast, so not entirely bad, but not as good as previous years when an old man would cook it up and greet everyone very enthusiastically. Our room had some defects. - dirt foam pieces between the mattress and the box spring.- no Kleenex, yet has empty container cover - toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, needing repair.- dirty shower in corners- pooh or chocolate smeared on the sheets but hidden under the bed cover. Which we only discovered in the morning!! Totally Gross! We reported all this to the staff upon checking out, they claimed someone would contact me, but I never heard anything from anyone.Staff did claim the empty Kleenex container is because they don't supply Kleenex anymore, but had no answer to why keep the container covers in the room ?Good things here are: Lots of parking, has a hot breakfast, large rooms.
