tripadvisorVisited recently on a Friday evening for the purpose of trying the fish fry. We had the fish dinner (not the all you can eat), which included 3 pieces of beer battered fish, French fries and coleslaw. I chose the house salad instead of the coleslaw. The place was extremely busy at the time we visited and the staff were attentive, friendly and courteous. The fish was deep fried but not greasy and I liked the French fries because they were not covered with salt. The coleslaw and house salad were basic, nothing special. All in all we will visit again just because it is a local establishment and maybe try another special.
MoreGREAT place! Each time we go, the service is SUPER & the food is FANTASTIC!! Keep up the GREAT work!!
MoreThis is Lansing's oldest family owned restaurant. Charming interior (seems larger than the exterior...shades of Dr. Who!), great service...what's not to like? The food! My friend and both got an olive burger with onion rings. The rings were not too plentiful and looked like they were not made on premises, no discernible flavor and poor appearance. The burgers had buns like you'd find at a McDonald's and the patty of meat appeared to be frozen and not made there, either. Very disappointing! Granted that we were both spoiled by the superb olive burgers at Kewpee's or Steak House Philly (might they be the best ever?) but there was nothing about the meal that would tempt us to ever return. This place could set the standard if the food was up to the level of the rest of the place...in the meantime, look elsewhere.
MoreOn Fridays they have all all-you-can-eat fish deal. The cod is amazing - it's not too greasy, it's hot, it's flaky, and the portions are generous (even with the all you can eat). They do get very busy so don't wait on placing refill orders. Plus, if you're solo or a couple, you might have trouble finding seating that's not at a tiny table in the back near the kitchen or practically sitting on the people at the next table. (Great if you're an extrovert - not so much otherwise.) Still, it's a great deal and great food. To avoid the crowds or delays, go earlier than later (say 4:30 to 5-ish if possible).
MoreHarry's is a popular bar & it can be difficult to find seating if the patio is not open. The hamburgs are very good. We've tried a couple of the sandwiches & have not been impressed with those. Friendly service.
