This place is a breathe of fresh air coming from a more inland part of Texas such as Dallas. It’s rolling hills and lush vegetation set it apart from the flat land you associate with most of Texas. When you first get to the lago vista area you are taken back with the wonderful lake views and quant suburbs nestled in the hills. It is a place with a plethora of outdoor activities. We opted to rent a boat and zip line while in the area. Make sure to drive safety as there are herds of cute deer that will come up to you and eat out of your hand. Adorable place overall. Make sure to stop at the local grocery store because once at your rental it is around a 15-20 minute drive back into town. Also there is a food truck court that we never got around to visiting but it looks like a fun time. Great for the whole family

Provide more public access. Access to the lake is limited amd requires a fee. Be sure to have a plan before going, or you will be disappointed. Traffic is terrible. The Lake is not enjoyable as it was 20+ years ago.

The price entrance cost is pretty steep to just step next to the lake, it is better to do a water activity in other lake entrance or to go to the Oasis for the views.

We rented a pontoon boat from Liquid thrills. They were very thorough. The boat was excellent and we were able to go several miles for boating fun and we stopped a few times for some swimming time. The lake was not busy at all. We were out on the first Tuesday in June at 10 am for 4 hours. The weather was cloudy and the water temperature was on the cool side. We rented another pontoon boat from Lago Vista Boat Rentals. They were friendly and we got the nicest boat in their fleet. We had the same experience as earlier in the week. The 2nd trip was the first Friday in June at 10:30 am for 4 hours. The weather was totally sunny and the water temp was far more comfortable, refreshing but not too cool. There was a bit more activity on the lake but not too busy. Both rental companies were fine. Due to availablity, we needed to use two companies. Book ahead if you can. We waited to see the weather before booking. We will definitely be back!

Large rock cliffs and beautiful clear water lake. It’s extremely long and covers a lot of area. We have had some luck fishing for white bass and catfish. Perfect lake to take a cruise in the boat or ride the jet ski. The views are spectacular.
