Granary Burying Ground Park

Granary Burying Ground, a historic cemetery established in 1660, is the final resting place of many notable figures of the American Revolution. Besides famous patriots such as Samuel Adams and Paul Revere, the graves of the Boston Massacre victims (and Elizabeth "Mother" Goose herself) are among the more renowned in the graveyard. Located on the Freedom Trail across from the Park Street Church, this cemetery is a piece of Boston's varied history, and worth a visit. Wander the haphazard rows and see if you can recognize some of the thousands of names.

A must see when visiting Salem. This is the final resting place of many families and people who helped establish Salem. Very interesting to see the names and vital statistics represented across the centuries.

The experience was remarkable; I have visited this location twice, and my second visit lasted quite a while. It may seem odd, but at each tombstone I encountered—those of Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock—I took a moment to kneel and converse with them. While it might sound unusual, I felt compelled to express my gratitude for their contributions and even mentioned that I could benefit from some of their wisdom in today's world. Admission is free, and during my second visit, the crowd was manageable with only a small number of people present. The atmosphere is impressive and has a distinctly eerie quality as well.

This very old cemetery is like stop in the history. It is Boston's third-oldest cemetery founded in 1660. People who stood at the birth of a state of America and their families could be found here - Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin's family, Paul Revere, John Hancock, victims of the Boston massacre are also buried here. There are many old headstones but I was very much surprised that it is still possible to read who is buried in the grave. We visited it on our last day in the city when it was a little raining but it didn't put us off. In my view it's one of many places which is must to visit.
