This was our first stop to dine at this neat local eatery off of Plainfield.The menu is extensive for a pub. The staff and kitchen quite accommodating. We tried the fried shrimp and smelt. Both were very good and the portions were ample, enough that we had a few for home. There is a good crowd on the weekends here for dinner. While not a big place, we waited less than 15 minutes to be seated at 6:30pm. The plates coming out of the kitchen were loaded with food. For a small place, the variety is enormous really. Prices are very fair. Your table will probably be visited by the owner. Gotta love it.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Charlie's yet. My hubby and I go here at least every other month. Sizzler, prime rib sandwich, burrito, coconut shrimp, their fries are great - everything we have had has been great. Their drinks are good too, not wimpy like the chain restaurants. Friendly staff and the owner makes the rounds and always says hi. Lots of older folks - 45+ that appear to be regulars. A hidden gem and definitely worth a visit!

When you walk in, it looks old, as the flooring is cement. But don't let that deter you from eating at this place. My server, whose name I don't remember, as they don't wear name tags, read off at least 8 different specials for the night. After a few minutes of deciding, I chose the Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich. It came on a sub type bun, with the Prime Rib (which the server said came from the Prime Rib Dinner the day before), a type of cheese that might have been similar to white cheddar, Onions and Mushrooms. This sandwich was a winner. Tender and juicy, and just an overall good sandwich. It came with French Fries, which were crispy, but too big of a portion (just my opinion). I would definitely return when it is warmer outside, as the restaurant was cold.

I had the Wing Dings Basket. Karla had fish and chips. This is the one of the best wing dings I’ve had. Not your typical GFS prebreaded food. The fish was some of the best lightly breaded she had. Cole slaw EXCELLENT. Portions were very large and Sherry the wait person was fun and efficient.

Not Disapointed at all! We had Wings, Burger, and BLT...great. The food is good, don't worry! I happen to love the dark, but clean atmosphere. I felt relaxed. It was pretty empty, but we were there at an odd time. What I loved most about this place was the awesome comraderie between staff..good vibes make all the difference. They have Keno and Lots of Beer choices Oh...our waitress was super cool to our 21year old with autism. Not too many people get it. She was fun and classy.
