This park straddles the Hartford/West Hartford town line. The rose garden is sensational in June and July and pretty the rest of the year. If you visit Hartford in the summer it is a must see. And it's free.

Free and just a stunning outdoor garden. Every time we visit there is a wedding party there, that’s how nice it is. Lovely roses are the primary attraction. Consider bringing a picnic. Plan on at least a couple of hours. Places to sit and accessible for those with strollers, walkers, canes, etc. Bathrooms are available. Small gift shop. Limited parking (free).

If you are visiting Hartford, this park is a must. On the edge of the main city it is beautifully laid out and the rose gardens and other flower gardens amazing, even out of season as today plus small lakes/fountains etc. Great for a wander around plus plenty of sitting space too. Interesting set of rules to eliminate antisocial behaviour, humans and their pets. There is plenty of nearby parking. Not very busy despite sunny 25 degrees C.

Absolutely beautiful place. Several different garden types, the best are the rose gardens. The best time of year to visit the roses is in June or September when the air is slightly cooler. There is a sizable annual garden and a special garden for Dallia lovers. September-October is the best time for the Dallias. There is also a wonderful restaurant called The Pond House, great for brunch and they also can do weddings. The gardens are a lovely backdrop for wedding photos. Bike trails surround the park and connect to the trails that run along the creek in West Hartford.

Absolutely beautiful garden with a very large rose garden. Many of the roses were still blooming in August. The peak time to visit is in early June for the roses. There is a lovely restaurant called the pond house. Also a prime location for weddings and wedding photos
