Disgusting had cockroaches crawling on my bed immediately saw them when I opened the door had to get another room because of how bad the first room was the second room was worse the hotel clerk was not friendly whatsoever she argued with me over what day it was she didn't even know what day it was that's enough said disgusting f****** disgusting cockroaches everywhere everywhere

Awful! Awful! Nasty Nasty!!! I didn’t personally book this hotel. A family member booked it. Very disgusting dirty. Everything single thing was gross. Sheets had stains as did the towels. The smell of the room was musty. Avoid this hotel.

THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING!!!!!!! VERY SKETCHY PEOPLE APPEAR TO BE LIVING AT THIS PROPERTY. EVERYTHING IS RUN DOWN AND GROSS!! CIGARETTE BURNS IN THE BED SPREADS, CIGARETTE BURNS ON SINK AND SHOWER. LITERALLY STEPS AWAY FROM THE HIGHWAY. ROOM RATE WAS $139 AND IT WAS NOT WORTH $13. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE A PLACE LIKE THIS CAN STAY IN BUSINESS.

I never have been in a roach and rodent infested motel room until now . My room did have a beautiful view of a covered pool with a sagging cover full of stagnant water. The room next to me I could only describe as a very busy crack house with its revolving door and frequent visitors til 3am . Why 3am ? That's when I packed up and slept In my vehicle until morning. Ask for a refund or switch rooms? I didn't feel like getting stabbed with a dirty knife . This place is disgusting

If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. When we finally arrived in Des Moines at Motel 6 (4940 NE 14th St, Des Moines, IA), we were made to wait at the night key drop window, which was not air conditioned, as the worker behind the counter refused to unlock reception (early evening). Finally, when more people arrived, he let us in.Then he claimed he could not find our booking (we had booked 4 non-smoking rooms in all) even when we gave him the confirmation email. Finally, he said, He would have to move some things around, as they were overbooked. This is interesting as we wanted to trade 2 other rooms because they stank of cigarette smoke and the deodorete spray they used to cover the smell of smoke. The smell gave my wife and I a headache. The other room we traded stank of cannibus.The rooms were supposed to be non-smoking yet stank of cigarette smoke with burn marks on the bed comforters and shower curtain.There was trash outside rooms that looked like it had been there for days (paper and cigarette butts) throughout the complex. Other guests appeared suspicious, with some of them drunk and falling around (one of whom actually collided with me and my children).They were drinking and yelling. We even had a police car turn up and drive around slowly as if they were looking for someone. There was dog poop right outside our first room as well as next to the pool area. We were looking forward to using the pool, but it was covered up and locked. Our kids were very disappointed. It showed a nice pool on the website, but even that area looked worse for wear.Our second room was not much better, with bed bugs in one of our beds, and when we pulled up the mattress it was stained and covered in dirt and crumbs.As soon as we found bed bugs, we left (we never slept as we were looking for another place to stay and we had already driven like 10 hours that day). When we called to get a refund, we were told they could only refund 1 of the 4 rooms we booked and would have to call back Monday to speak to the manager. When my wife called to request a full refund, the manager on the other end of the line was rude and would not listen to her, only listening once her husband (me) got on the phone. I explained all the issues we had and the reason for our leaving. They finally refunded us but told our reservation website we were a no show, so we couldn't rate them on our reservation website. We finally found a decent place that would take us 45 minutes away were we could finally get some sleep at 2 in the morning.Please avoid this place at all costs.
