Constructed in the year 1994 overseeing is the Cedar River is the Young Arena. This is mainly an indoor sports rink that is used for hosting ice-hockey events and ice-skating activities. On other occasions, the venue is also utilized as an arena for wrestling and basketball tournaments. It has been the home arena for the Waterloo Black Hawks team.

We have gone to Young Area for the open ice skating as well as Black Hawk hockey games. If you go to a game, you have to try the cheese curds!

MoreYoung Arena is always in excellent condition, is heated for Hockey games, Wrestling and other events. It has public skating, skating lessons and hockey of course. The seats fold down and have arm rests; only the west end of the area is bleacher seating. During Waterloo Blackhawk games they serve alcohol and all kinds of food offerings. Great atmosphere!
MoreI went with a group of coworkers to a blackhawks game while we were in town. The game was a BLAST! Tickets prices were very reasonable for a Friday night. Food options were pretty good (cheese curds were awesome!). We got to the game a little late and did have a little trouble finding a parking spot. This arena is very nice and I would definitely come back next time I am in town!
MoreYou do t need to go to Chicago or Minneapolis to get a first rate hockey experience. The Blackhawks work hard to provide a very high level and professional gam atmosphere and for a fraction of the price of the NHL. I’ve been to two games this season already and have tickets to another one.
