tripadvisorIts an interesting, funky little museum. I gather that most of the collection was donated by Iowa members. There was an interesting selection of Native American artifacts with items I have never seen before, as well as ones local to Iowa. Also collections of shoes, vases, pots and whatever. Good for a rainy day or when you want to do something different in Cedar Rapids. The staff is very nice, and will explain all about the Masons if you ask.
MoreAccompanied by a guide we toured the Masonic Library and Museum. He was kind to explain to us a lot of things and it was interesting to see how many valuable objects are collected there, from Masons who traveled the world and those who possessed historical weapons, swords and other artifacts.
MoreThis is an interesting historic museum with displays and artifacts many will find fascinating. You will be shown around by knowledgeable guides telling the history of the city and the area.
MoreThis beautiful library and museum is small enough to not tire a person out but contains many quirky and interesting items!!
MoreMy great uncle was a Mason but I knew very little about what he did or about the Masonic community in general. I visited the museum just out of curiosity and was quite impressed with the rich history and the items that have been recovered and put on display. I'm interested now in learning more about the society.
