More than one of the parking lots were flooded.
We thought this van was going to get stuck.
We were surprised at how many people were driving through, but we opted to go around it.

The short version: Pretty park with good facilities, family-oriented beach, and nice walking/biking trails. Expensive entry fees for nonresidents. The long version: We visited the beach as a family in July (grandparents in their 70s, several adults in their 20s-40s, a toddler). We chose this location because it was centrally located between family in New York City and Connecticut. The beach was perfect for our needs. The waves were mild and the slope is gradual, so it was easy for us adults to enjoy the water without getting knocked over. When the tide went out, it left a wide mud flat, perfect for kids to run around and hunt for shells. Note: water quality can apparently be an issue. We didn't have any problems, but a sign said that people have gotten swimmer's itch. You can search Greenwich CT beach swimming status for water quality updates. The facilities were well maintained. Beach bathrooms are always wet and sandy, and these were no exception, but they were well stocked with paper towels and soap. The sinks and toilets all worked. There were also outdoor showers and changing areas. The concessions had decent variety for a small beach: Hamburger, fish sandwich, veggie wrap, ice cream bars, etc. We had a tuna sandwich and a clam strip sandwich. They weren't gourmet, but not terrible either. Sandwich prices were around $10-$12. They also sold towels and personal hygiene products.Parking was easy. Many open spots despite being a busy Saturday.Other parts of the park were also appealing. We drove the short loop around the peninsula and enjoyed marsh and Sound views. There is a grassy picnic area near the beach, and the shady walking paths looked inviting.Getting in: Since we don't live in Greenwich, beach tickets were expensive and required planning. As other reviewers have noted, from May to October, entry tickets cost $40 per car, and you also have to pay $10 per person in addition to the car fee. You must buy these tickets online, and only on weekdays between 9am-1pm. They are good for any day during the season they're purchased; you don't have to commit to a specific day. The tickets allow you to enter the park only once; you can't exit and come back. When we went, the entrance workers accepted both paper and electronic versions of the tickets. No one asked for them again once we were in the park.Final verdict: An attractive park that worked well for a small family gathering with kids. But given the expense, we won't go out of our way to visit again.

A haven of nature and peace just in the bustling community of Old Greenwich. Loved by those who run bike, beach walkers. A special place for the locals to relax and while away the days. Open to all people during the winter months but only card access during the summer.

Visiting Greenwich, we Ubered to see Greenwich Point Park, not realizing we had to have a pass. The woman at the gate informed us it was $10 per person if we went in on foot, so we thanked the driver and got out. The woman rejected our cash and said we had to go online. Then she said “you should have come better prepared.” I replied that we were visiting from out of two and been told the park was beautiful to which she retorted, “It’s not a park, it’s a private beach!” (It is, in fact, also a park.) The app was hard to navigate, so I walked back to her and asked for help. It took her a minute or two to figure it out, during which she said again that we should have done this before arriving so she wouldn’t have to “stand out in the cold figuring it out.” There were two in our party, however, so I had to go back and struggle with the app to find the purchase option. She came back out and snarled that we should “just go in.” I cannot remember a less hospitable encounter.

I was on a 20 mi run prep for nyc marathon and wanted to run thru Tods Point for a few laps but was RUDELY rejected by the guard, saying NO WAY, RESIDENTS ONLY !! ??? I to parking and CARS fees! I understand the rules and thought it applied during the season which ends Oct 31, I am from Stamford and thought there was a lawsuit that addressed this issue the: the waterfront belongs to the people and a town CAN NOT GOVERN PEDESTRIANS And CAN CHARGE FEES TO CARS FOR PARKING?!! THIS IS SOOOOO UNFAIR !!!

Does not welcome people from other towns. A private park, not public. Worst experience at the gate, the lady was super arrogant, and wouldn't explain, despite we were driving two hours. No ticket can be purchased at the gate, no sign for no tickets either. On Google if you click the ticket tab, it is $10, but it's a trap, I've seen a people on Google complaining hat it is $50 and the town on purpose turn people away by making ticket purchase Mon-Fri only, meaning if you go there over the weekend, they will talk to you in a condescending tone and then blame it is all your fault.
