tripadvisorMy husband and I found the Northern Trust Building while walking around. I was immediately struck by the Neo-classical elements; it is a very elaborate and interesting building that looks to be well cared for. The Northern Trust Building was built between 1904 and 1906 in the Beaux Arts style. Formerly housing Northwestern National Insurance and the American National Bank, it now houses the Milwaukee branch of The Northern Trust Company. The Bedford Limestone building was designed by George Bowman Ferry and Alfred C. Clas (Milwaukee Public Library’s Central Library, The Milwaukee Auditorium, etc). This ornate building features bronze grillwork, lamps at the entrance, round windows, and Ionic columns with additional decorations throughout. Definitely look for this building if you are walking around Milwaukee!
