tripadvisorIt is so good to be back in Scottsdale visiting my mother-in-law! Not only does that mean I get plenty of great food and family fun times, but it also means that I get an opportunity to attend a play at Don Bluth Front Row Theater. My wife and I were ecstatic when we booked our seats for Blithe Spirit while still in Germany. We had seen this particular play before in one of our many travels so we knew the story line well. What made this performance even better was sitting up so close to the action and becoming part of the play. I swear the first time Elvira passed by in front of me I felt a cold burst of air as well as the aroma of her sweet smelling perfume. The two wives of Charles were outstanding and played so well off of each other, especially when the second Mrs Condomine passed. The world-renown Madame Arcati was brilliant! Charles himself was strong in his performance and came off as believable in being the only person who could see Elvira. The rest of the cast definitely held their own. I definitely give the opening night showing of Blithe Spirit two thumbs up. I want to express my sincere appreciation to the entire staff for their support over the years as I tried to give my mother-in-law some live theater in her life. I feel like I know all of them too. Now that I am retired, my wife and I may be moving here to be close to Mom. If so, you can bet we will be buying season tickets not just for her, but for all of us. Thank you, Don Bluth!
MoreThe Don Bluth Theater is a remarkable, intimate venue with reliably excellent productions put on by talented local actors. We have been attending performances for well over a decade and have been entertained, inspired and moved by the amazing productions on the tiny stage literally at your feet. This month we attended It's a Wonderful Life, twice with different friends and they enthusiastically agreed with our love for this jewel of the Valley. If you have not yet attended a performance here, please check the calendar and get your tickets to any performance they have scheduled, you will not be disappointed and I guarantee you will be back!
MoreDon't miss Anastasia. This production was directed by Don Bluth, namesake of the Don Bluth Front Row Theatre. We attended the matinee performance yesterday - and it was outstanding. The actors were all right on. The singing, the dancing, the choreography, the stage direction - all were wonderful. Kudos to the entire production, actors, crew, and staff for a truly entertaining production. Looking forward to It's A Wonderful Life, and then the exciting 2025 Season.
MoreThis is a great time! The ambiance. From ushers to cast and directors and Don's opening jokes, you will feel like you were invited to an intimate matinee of entertainment! I go to every play and love every one of them! Most recent Steel Magnolias is belly laughs and an emotional turn of events that demonstrates life, friendship on every level, courage, heartache, community, and LOVE! Come to a place that sells out tickets for a reason and experience it for yourself!!
