tripadvisorOne of the highlights of our trip to Duluth MN and Bayfield Wisconsin! We happened to see signs on the road trip from Bayfield back to Duluth. We followed the signs that were very rustic because myself, husband and sister all love glass. When I say this gallery is a hidden gem I’m not exaggerating. It looks like something that the seven dwarfs and Snow White would live in! The artist Jim ( glass blower) built this house and studio. We didn’t have the pleasure of meeting him but we met his charming wife Sue. The studio is packed with gorgeous glass all that he and his wife made. Everywhere my eyes went I saw piece after piece of spectacular glass! They don’t ship so I knew I needed to get what I wanted right then and there and hand carry it on the plane back home. My sister got a breathtaking vase that was a collaboration of both Sue and her husband. He blew the vase and she made the glass flowers on the exterior. I got 2 beautiful ornaments. I feel fortunate to have come across this hidden gem!
MoreThis place is fantastic! Off the beaten path and filled with beautiful glass pieces-we always find something unique to bring home for ourselves and also-for our family. This is well worth the time-owners are also incredibly kind and very talented!!!
MoreVisited yesterday on our way to Bayfield from Grand Marais. I bought a vase last year at the Art Dock in Duluth. This year visited the Art Dock again and found another beautiful, different type, of vase. The owner of the Art Dock told me about the Oulu Glass Gallery and the artists/owners Jim and Sue. Upon arrival, Sue invited me in, and shared the story behind her Teapot Garden in front of the house/gallery. I then enjoyed probably an hour of looking at the 2 galleries, one downstairs, one upstairs. I found 2 more pieces to purchase, both beautiful and somewhat whimsical. They have a wide price range, something for everyone who appreciates art glass. You can also find their work at the Artist's Guild in Bayfield. Highly recommend.
MoreMy mother-in-law and I spent several enjoyable hours there and I even came back to California with a lovely Oulu Glass vase filled with 2 glass flowers and a glass leaf.
MoreLots of handblown glasswork from Stained Glass, glassblowing and fused glass. Glass is all made there in the studio.
