Brookfield Place Shopping Center & Mall

Brookfield Place is a massive and sometimes overlooked shopping plaza located in Battery Park City. There are plenty of stores which you may know such as Hermès, Diane Von Furstenburg and Gucci, but guests will also find other lesser-known ones like DVF and Cos Bar. Moreover, the dining options at Brookfield Place aren't your typical, run-of-the-mill eateries found at a suburban mall, here guests will find upscale, elegant restaurants like Amada for tapas, Blue Ribbon Sushi and there is even a P.J. Clarke's inside. This iconic NYC saloon/restaurant is actually one of its many hidden secrets.

This is a fancy shopping area with some high-end stores. The design is striking and this is a good place for shoppers. I was not in the mood for shopping, so we just walked through looking at the design.

Brookfield Place is one of those spots in Manhattan that pleasantly surprises you, especially if it’s your first time visiting. Located right across from the World Trade Center, it’s much more than just a shopping mall, it’s an experience in itself. What stood out to me the most was the abundance of natural light flooding the space. The high glass ceilings, clean lines, and modern architecture create an open, airy atmosphere that feels both elegant and relaxing. Add in the waterfront views of the Hudson, and it becomes a perfect place to slow down for a moment in the middle of the city.I didn’t come here with the intention of shopping, but rather to take in the space, walk around, and enjoy the design, and it absolutely delivered. It’s a great place to unwind, people-watch, or simply appreciate how well the space is put together.

After a visit to the 9/11 Museum & Tour this was an excellent spot to have lunch in the food court. Brookfield Place is a high end shopping destination with a large open atrium and palm trees, full of sunlight with plenty of cafe type tables & chairs to relax. More importantly, it’s connected to the Oculus which is a major subway stop so you can get anywhere in the New York City from here. An added bonus when we visited was the “Can”struction exhibit. Brookfield Place explains it best on their website:“ Canstruction is … the beloved annual design competition challenges teams of architects, engineers, and contractors to build sculptures made entirely out of unopened cans of food. The large-scale sculptures are displayed in an exhibition open to the public and later donated to City Harvest to help feed those in need.”

The entire area has been constructed to a high standard with great facilities - in Brookfield Plaza you can find great restaurants with an excellent ocean view, including the Statue of Liberty.

Lovely place to visit, very expensive in shops. Walk through to the River and sit viewing the harbour. The metro is in the Oculas, plenty of more shops, where you can get the subway to any part of the city.
