I was passing thru and saw the sign and store. Stopped in just to browse for a new hat. I told Eric (k) what color I was looking for and size. He went to the back (somewhere) and came out with the perfect color. Then Jerry started to work on the hat. I stood and talked with Jerry the entire time he worked on designing the hat. What an artist. Took about 40-45 min from beginning to end. I put it on and it was PERFECT!!!! Jerry added a gorgeous hat band and BAM the whole this was there!!!. A true artist who loves what he does. And Eric was such a professional in reading & knowing the client, and finding the perfect color. I can't wait to get back there and have another one or two (that we discussed while I was there) made. They also cleaned up and reshaped the 2 hats I was traveling with. Stopped in here on a whim and discovered an extremely knowledgeable custom hat maker ( Jerry Derby) who makes hats in-house anywheres from quite reasonable on up to top of the line beaver and beaver blend western and cowboy hats. Jerry will take your selection and customize it any way you want, personalize it, and then steam it effortlessly into something that a box hat would never become, usually while you wait. He makes hats for rodeo stars but takes the time to do quality work for off the street customers making modest purchases too.
