tripadvisorMy husband and I went to see The Book Of Mormon, first of all Im not a South Park fan. I was definitely surprised. I thought it was shocking at times. And definitely didnt think it was funny. Talking about diarrhea, raping babies, was not funny. And I consider my husband and I and not prudes we enjoy comedy but this was not comedy.
MoreTotal garbage. Not what is advertised you will be totally disappointed. Saw this years ago in Toronto. Absolutely terrible.
MoreEugene theatre in new york is a lovely intimate venue. The wine was expensive but the barman was so fast and impressive, he had that down to a fine art and was able to serve everyone who wanted a drink in the interval, it was amazing to see!! The show was probably the best thing I've ever seen, yes the humour is very close to the bone but no worse than South park or Ricky Gervais. Very very funny and 100% worth a watch if you're not too delicate. I have put that we went as a family and we did but our daughter is 18 , this show is not for children
MoreWorst Broadway show I've seen in 35 years of seeing Broadway shows. I'm not religious, I lean liberal, and I love comedy. I even liked the first South Park movie. All that being said, I almost fell asleep during the first act, I didn't laugh once (except when a cast member accidentally laughed during her scene), and like many other reviewers, found the Ugandian portrayal and baby raping dialogue a bit too much. I even read that the cast has found the content troubling in recent years. Should be enough reason to think twice before shelling out hundreds of dollars and wasting 2 and a half hours of your precious time.
MoreWell done musical! Laughed so hard I cried! Definite must see if you are in the city. My daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves.
