Soulard gets all the attention, but Benton Park definitely is a destination to visit. It has the Lemp mansion and Budweiser. Cafes, bars, restaurants, book stores, parks, a cat cafe and more. There is a ton of history in the area. Walk the streets starting at Lemp and Cherokee to read the historical markers with snippets of local history and legend.

We stopped here to sit on a shaded bench overlooking the small lake and enjoy some fresh hot pretzels perched from Gus' Ptrezels just two blocks away. It was a nice quiet spot with a few ducks and a couple of short walking paths.
