tripadvisorWe actually live over 3 hours from here, but a few years ago we purchased a lake house 15 minutes away. Since then, we have discovered Lucius Woods. It is a great city park with camping, a swimming beach, picnicking areas, playground and hiking/biking trails. The piece de resistance though is the Performing Arts Center amphitheater. It is a beautifully designed log building with great acoustics. We have now attended 3 concerts here. You sit in chairs you bring, or you can use ones they have on hand. Also bring a cooler with drinks and snacks if you like, or you can buy drinks and food at the concession stand.. yes that includes beer. Tickets are always $20 at the gate and $15 advance tickets online. Most recently we enjoyed the fantastic Chicago blues band, Reverend Raven and the Chain Smoking Alter Boys with Westside Andy on harmonica. Check it out, it sits on the shore of beautiful Lake St. Croix.
MoreAn item on my list for years, we finally bought the tickets and did it! We enjoyed a musical performance by one of our favorite two-somes under the open sky and in this absolutely breathtaking entertainment venue! Carry in your own chair, beverages, and snacks - although there is a small concession stand inside as well. Port-a-pottys on site. The acoustics are amazing. It made for a highly enjoyable evening at this location. We definitely plan to do it again!
