Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy is to develop the drummer into a well rounded musician. Then focus is not only on rhythm but also reading and music theory. The goal is for the student to develop his or her own style and be able to improvise, jam with other musicians and play for fun, alone or in a band setting. My Students: I teach all ages; from 3 years old to adults. As part of developing the student, lessons, while based on true and tried methodologies and procedures, will be adjusted to maximize the student's musical development. I have taught kids with special needs, including Autistic, ADHD and physical disabilities; for them I have developed several approaches that are well suited to their needs; however, after spending a few sessions with them, I will taylor the lessons to their particular needs. I Specialize: For beginners, the focus is on developing good habits by focusing on technique and reading. I know as a student myself, good habits are the bases of solid music and drumming. For advanced students, I specialized on hand and feet technique to make drumming easier and develop sound - get out of your drums the sound YOU want. Also, I cover advance reading for all styles of music.
