Open by appointment and on "Open Days" (tadpolehaven.com/events), Tadpole Haven carries over 100 plant species native to Western Washington and the Northwest. Native plants are beautiful and require less care in your garden because they are adapted to our area's wet winters and dry summers. They provide essential habitat for native animals. Even a small city garden filled with native plants will provide cover and food for many insects and birds. Native plantings protect and improve the water quality of lakes, streams and Puget Sound. Tadpole Haven is situated in Paradise Valley in the Bear Creek Watershed. Tadpole Haven's native plants are grown in a sustainable way with organic fertilizers and natural pest control. Caring for the environment and creating healthy habitat for people and wildlife are Tadpole Haven's top priorities.
