Terrific tour of Detroit, which I think is the most interesting city in America. Joe knows it inside out. Its history, politics, streets, people, factories...everything. A great experience.

We had such an excellent time getting the history of Detroit from Joe. We did a walking tour and driving tour. Highly recommend!

Our family of six were on a road trip around the States and we did a tour of Detroit with Joe on a very wet October morning. Right from the start we knew we had made the right choice. Before heading off in the car Joe gave us an overview of Detroit's incredible history and the industrial and social changes that have shaped its rise, fall, and rebirth. We only did a two hour tour but Joe managed to pack in a wide range of Detroit's diverse neighbourhoods. Joe was honest about Detroit's problems, but was incredibly optimistic for the city's future. He clearly loves his hometown. Our kids range from 9 to 17 and they took pretty much everything in. We've heard them talking to their friends about Detroit and it's all information they picked up from the tour. So thanks Joe, you helped make our stay in Detroit one of the highlights of our holiday. I would highly recommend Backseat Detroit if you're planning a tour of the city.

There was 10 of us ranging in age from 17-80’s and Joe accommodated all of us perfectly! He’s super knowledgeable, pesonable, funny, and professional. He tailored the tour to exactly what we were looking for while adding extra stops along the way with history and info about every street, building, etc. Added bonus was he was super flexible when we arrived 20+ minutes late due to our bus company and he offered to extend the tour so we still got our full time in! Highly recommend!!!

Our family of three generations, originally from Detroit, did a tour this fall. We chartered a large van and hired Joe to share his stories and insights of Detroit, from it's history all the way up to current what is happening in the city today. Joe was delightful. He began by asking us some questions to uncover what we would most be interested in, shared a brief historical background of Detroit and then we spent the afternoon visiting different areas in the city. Places I had visited before became so much more interesting with the historical facts and current activities that Joe was able to share. I HIGHLY recommend you engage Joe if you'd like an experienced insiders view to Detroit.
