tripadvisorToo bad we didn’t get to try out the atmosphere menu. The hostess at the front, Maddie, was rude and condescending, and we chose to turn around and leave.
MoreGreat atmosphere, tremendous spirit and beer menu as well. I had the short rib grilled cheese and fries and it was delicious! Highly recommend
MoreDelicious! Finished off with the Espresso Coffee Creme Brûlée~calorie worthy. Kayvan provided exceptional service along with spot on recommendations. He truly made the experience unforgettable ~ a true asset! The hostess also went above and beyond to assist with my phone while trying to make a flight.
MoreIf I could give this place an extra half star I would. In a city with no real food culture (compared to Austin, per se, which is also a University town and state capital), this is a safe choice. I will never again go to Red Rocks Brewery, though I am partial to the wine bar under the italian cafe in the old Eagles club, and Squatters pizzas. Like most booze forward food/whisky bars, the selection of alcohol is great, the pours are solid (looking at you Copper Commons and your thimble sized wine servings), and the food is pretty good. But, as is also typical, attention to detail is lacking. I've been three times and am yet to get a fresh, hot batch of fries. The steak sandwich is a nice big NY strip about an inch thick on toast with blue cheese, caramelized onions and onion straws. Sadly, the meat was really well cooked. The onion straws were stone cold, cooked at 10 am I'm guessing, the onions were good but so few they added nothing to the dish, the toast was burnt and the fries were cold. It needed a sauce. Fortunately, the staff is terrific. Friendly and helpful. They brought an au poive sauce that made the dish really come together, and a full order of fresh hot fries. With those updates, a great plate. So if you are in the downtown core, don't be afraid to hit this place up, on the street that the original immigrants dubbed Whisky Street and zoned it as one of the few places apostates like me could get a drink! And that is typical of this place. Don't be afraid to ask for things to be made better.
MoreSo glad I stopped here. If you’re a whiskey lover, you’ll need to set aside time just to read through the book of options. Staff is awesome- very friendly and attentive. And food is terrific. Good selection of vegetarian options.
