Most of the reviewer‘s here are confusing the Kiva auditorium with the Kimo theater. This is NOT the Kimo theater. It is not a small, intimate, southwestern style theater. It is a large, impersonal, awkward venue for music concerts. Unfortunately, it’s the only indoor music venue this big in Albuquerque and we are forced to watch some of the best artists in this really badly designed auditorium.

Been to many concerts here. This is a good concert venue ONLY if you have seats at center of stage, but the seating on the far right and left are absolutely horrible. Due to bad sight lines and lop-sided sound from the left and the right side seats, and the slight slope of seating (people in front block those behind) a total redesign of the auditorium is needed. This is a big auditorium and the side seat sections, which are very big, never sell out and are often quite vacant. This leads to a feeling of absence, that the entire concert is underpopulated, and it detracts from the energy of what should be sold out shows. It’s just an awkward auditorium for music concerts. It was obviously designed as a multipurpose auditorium, and it works better for large lectures and high school graduations than it does for music. I can just imagine some city council of not so hip white dudes in horn rimmed glasses and polyester suits in the 1970s signing off on the design, “oh, this auditorium will be excellent for those Stephen Covey lectures I love so much!”

We've been to two shows at the Kiva. Both were very nice. We had center back seats for one, and side middle seats for the other. I thought the view of the stage was good for both. Entrance into the theater is a little slow, as there are only two entrances, so plan ahead to give yourself time to get into theater. Lots of parking around the venue, especially in the evening, both in a large parking structure and in several surface lots. We got out faster parking on the surface lots but both work well.

Went to see DWTS tour in Albuquerque, I am from Denver but the show did not come there this was the closest for me as I am a real fan of the show. I follow Gleb Savchenko and he always stays after to talk with my husband and I. I thought the Kiva Auditorium was very nice and easy to get around in the theater, had great seats and could see the stage well and seats were comfortable, I was in Row 3 in the front. The people working there were very nice and helpful.
