tripadvisorDecent local park and the dog areas are great (though I definitely do not bring my little dog given its high use for exercising larger pups). The paved walkways are easy for all ages. However, I had to stop using the park after local services trimmed the area abutting the church - now you have to look at a giant cross on the walkway and that makes this space non-secular and not inclusive for our whole community to use. I wish the park service would do something about this issue and/or create a plant barrier to bring the space back into full public use.
Morea great place for your dog to get exercise in a safe environment. some shade, some sun, a variety of facilities for different size dogs. Attractive park for a variety of activities.
Moreour dog GIGI is so happy when we go their. she is chasing my wife the ball we throw and meeting the other dogs. when we get home she is GIGI posterpedic lol
MoreWe've been bringing our pupper here for 4 months now starting a few weeks after she got her rabies as a pup. She loves it here. My only complaint is that as soon as it gets warm the crazies come out. Beware other dogs - keep an eye on yours! Advice for any dog park. There are water stations here and you can tell its well kept up. Areas for shade, etc. Picnic tables are there and benches for some seating but please don't bring a picnic. LOL there will be dogs on the table with you in no time - including my own. Be wary of bringing youngsters. I would NEVER expect any other dogs to bite but may get knocked over as large packs run around LOL
MoreWellington Park is a large park. Lacking a playground or sports courts, it avoids the crowds and traffic of the nearby Shillito Park. Wellington Park has almost 2 miles of flat paved trails for walking, running, or biking. There is a new section through the woods with a bridge over the creek. The dog park is heavily utilized, but plenty of parking and space affords a relaxing experience although the neighboring highway contributes a lot of noise.
