Originally constructed in the late 19th century, this textile mill is now transformed into a vibrant marketplace. It is a buzzing market area with unique local vendors and dining options that make it an inviting destination for families. They have great coffee, bread, a fish market, and all kinds of yummy goodness! The market boasts specialty stores offering everything from fresh-cut flowers and hand-crafted home goods to gourmet coffee and artisan wines. Friendly vendors and a welcoming group of organizers make this market a must-visit destination.

tripadvisorInteresting history, nice shops and coolplace to eat along the Charlotte Rail Trail. We enjoyed browsing the shops, chatting with the owner and shopping at Las Olas swimwear, and eating (3 times in 2 trips!) At Tremont Kitchen & Bar. Beware, when this center gets packed, finding parking-even in the garage- can be challenging.
MoreSmall shopping complex with a few restaurants and specialty stores. I don't know if I would necessarily go out of my way to go here, but a nice place to stop of a bite to eat and check out some small local shops.Be aware that there is a primary building but then there are some secondaries with other stores and eateries. We spent about an hour walking around and visiting the stores before having lunch. The area is neat and the building has some interesting history and architecture.
MoreMy son and I visited while he was home for a few days from the military. We decided to visit Atherton Mill while roaming around South End. We went into the building around 1:30 on a Friday afternoon and it was morbidly quiet and nearly empty. Very dark, narrow hallways with not-so-great signage. Nothing felt inviting. We came across a coffee shop in the back that was a little more bright and airy, had a nicer atmosphere. But that was about it. It looks like it could have some great potential. But as it is now, I can't really recommend going out of your way to come here.
MoreIt has a market, restaurant called Living Kitchen, that is vegan and goid. Tge coffee place was good too! Like 5 minutes away from downtown, we got an uber to go. Different!
MoreDon't know what happened by the Atherton Mill and Market has changed from a bustling place filled with many unique local vendors to just a handful of products in a small area. Hope this is just temporary. Very sad. City needs this.
