Bill was an excellent tour guide. His knowledge and depth of Charlestons history, people and telling the truth about slavery and was not whitewashed. It is a hard lesson to hear but one many other tours will gloss over. He was great asking our small group what we were interested in ( we said architecture, and history) he put to rest many stories and confirmed others. Highly thought provoking. I look forward to another tour with Bill in the future. The fact that he has been in Charleston for over 3 decades was great to answer current questions about the rapid growth of the city over the past 10 years.

Had a terrific experience with our guide, Bill. He was fun, knowledgeable, and professional. I learned a thing or two and had a great time doing it. Perfect for folks visiting Charleston or for residents (like me) showing friends around town.

I’m a local, but I had family in town and they wanted to do a walking tour of Charleston. I am so incredibly happy that we chose Oyster Point Tours. Our guide, Bill, was incredibly engaging and passionate about the history of Charleston, and I even learned some new and interesting information despite having lived here for years. It’s an honest look at the city of Charleston and there are definitely some hard truths regarding the city’s role as one of the main entry points for slavery, but Bill handles the subject with respect and honesty. I cannot recommend this tour enough, whether you’re a local or a tourist, it’s truly worth the time.

Bill is the most knowledgeable tour guide we have ever been on a tour with. We learned so much behind the scenes history of Charleston and he answered every question we had. Doesn’t sugar coat the truth like so many tour guides. Highly recommend!

Oyster Tours is fabulous. This is the 3rd time I have taken this tour, once 4 years ago and once again in early Dec. No one’s understanding of what drove Charleston is complete without having been on this tour. You simply cannot miss it
