Developed under former Mayor Kip Holden, downtown square is a gathering point for concerts and weekend socializing. A number of new restaurants surround the square.

They are really trying to revitalize the downtown BR area and this is a nice addition. Good area for music during certain times of the year, good place for 5K runs, excellent for Jambalaya cookoff, 4th of July, etc.

The Town Square is the place to be during Live After Five and weekends. The area is beautiful and pleasant with music playing and lots of walk paths and seating. It's very family friendly and very close to several attractions (Old State Capital, LASM, LSU Museum of Art). It has nearby restaurants and a great spot for nightlife.

great spot to go on Friday evenings when week-end open concerts are performed. the crowds are very friendly and the available of local dishes are sold by local truck vendors.

This is on of my favorite areas of town to hang out, especially on Friday nights. There is a series called live after 5. Whereas lots of people are hanging put listing to bands out in the square or at different eateries in the area within walking distance of each other. Jolie Pearl Oyster Bar is right across the street and they are amazing. Also, lots of motorcycle groups of all types and great for kids there is a water feature all kids seem to enjoy.
