Such a wonderful Missoula icon. Love the friendly staff, especially Rachel. Such a selection of books! Have always loved the kids corner and the Montana section.

Great selection of novels, cute kids’ section, really good used book prices, Montana section. The staff is just sad. Aside from one or two of them they seem miserable and/or outright rude. I’ve been going here forever. They had some owner issues and a full staff change a few years ago. If there was a comparable used book store option I’d go there; sadly this is pretty much the only game in town. Hoping they will change ownership eventually.

I love this bookstore! It was my go to store until we moved to Oregon. While visiting back in Missoula it is an imperative for me to visit this wonderful place. I love to get a coffee at the cafe and look through books. Their prices are unbelievable-I selected several full color art books that would cost $30-40 in other stores. You can get new books for$5.00 to $10.00. I've seen some negative comments about the staff. My experience has always been positive.; the staff is friendly and helpful. If you have a couple of hours to kill i'd highly suggest the Book Exchange. .Good reading!

We visited The Book Exchange while following the Lewis and Clark Trail. As we entered the store, we first noticed the fantastic displays featuring books by local authors. A variety of books were available including local history, geography, and sites of interest. The display also included local authors of poetry, fiction, and biographies/memoirs. We were delighted by the attractively merchandized options. In addition the book store staff are warm and welcoming. Thanks for a great visit.
