A very historic hotel which has great amenities. Stopped on my way home to spend the night and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Fine dining or a bar with music are choices for dinner. Great comfy bed and pillows and also, a good continental breakfast with homemade baked goods.

Between the ordered $70 rare steak that arrived medium after 90 minutes (apparently cooked by someone on their very first stint, according to the waitress) and the $300 tired old corner room, adjacent to an apparently popular gas station, with bare extension cords running across the floor, I’m not inclined to repeat the experience. We’ve stayed here for years and this is the end of an era

What a delightful place to spend an evening. Rocking chairs, swings, and beautiful hanging plants on the large wraparound porch. Blankets were even provided for the cool evening. Entering the lobby, you’re met with western decor and a friendly representative. At check in, we were offered champagne and lavender-infused washcloths on a silver tray. The perfect combo for relaxing on the porch with other travelers. This facility does not have an elevator. There are 8 steps up to the front entry. We didn’t see a handicap entrance but there may have been one around back. We stayed on the first floor, room 101. It was comfortable and very clean. The only distraction was hearing our neighbor in the adjoining room sneezing throughout the stay. Breakfast was more of a continental offering - delicious cranberry muffins, banana bread, hard boiled eggs, cereal, etc. The breakfast offerings were on the 2nd floor but the helpful staff would certainly bring anything to you to enjoy in your room or spacious lobby. We had a wonderful stay and would certainly stay again.

Immediately upon arrival, the staff was friendly and accommodating, despite the fact that we arrived late. We were given complimentary champagne at checking in. The room was clean and comfortable. The lobby was well appointed in rich dark tones and interesting reading material. We would stay there again and hope to visit again soon.
