Purple Orchid encourages the use of unique organic materials that aren't found anywhere else in the world. Here are some of our favorite materials: Tagua nuts, Bombona seeds, Acai beads, Ayoyote seeds, Coconut shells. We also incorporate the use of Plantain, cabuya, cotton, chambira and werregue fibers in almost all our designs These natural materials are cultivated and harvested responsibly by Colombian artisans with the support of the local government to help with the conservation of the area while providing an eco-friendly way of earning a living for the people residing in these areas. Our inspiration in the Amazon rainforest goes far beyond the use of organic materials. Each set is carefully designed based on unique animals or flowers only found in this part of the world, like orchids, butterflies, birds and many other exotic animals.
