My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our six-day stay at the hotel. We were especially grateful for the early check-in arranged by Ushi and the late checkout made possible by Kazim. Both went above and beyond to make our stay more convenient. All of the shuttle drivers were outstanding, especially David, who provided exceptional service. The housekeeping staff also did a terrific job throughout our stay. Although we didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, we found excellent grocery options nearby at Randall's and Phoenicia Specialty Foods. For lunch or dinner, we recommend Pappas BBQ, which is just a short walk from the hotel. The location was ideal, with the Metrorail Red Line station just a short walk away, making it easy to visit the Houston Museum of Natural Science and many nearby restaurants.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel until the renovations are complete, something that is not disclosed on the hotel's website. I booked directly through Holiday Inn's website, where the terrace is prominently featured, but upon arrival it was completely inaccessible—locked with no chairs or guest access.The fitness center listed as an amenity no longer exists, and the front desk staff were not even aware of that. The equipment has been moved into a hallway and is covered in dust from the ongoing construction. The entire floor where the gym should be is in complete disarray, with exercise equipment, boxes, trash, and construction materials scattered everywhere.The parking garage Elevator is not air-conditioned, which makes it extremely uncomfortable considering this is Texas and temperatures were near 100 degrees during our stay. The sundries shop inside the hotel was nearly empty, and due to the renovations there were only two ice machines available for the entire hotel.The surrounding area also felt a bit unsafe, with homeless individuals wandering around and camped across the street. There is no information posted in the rooms or elevators explaining where amenities are located, including the relocated gym equipment or the terrace that guests cannot access.On the positive side, our room was clean, and every front desk employee we encountered was friendly, professional, and helpful. Unfortunately, the condition of the hotel and the lack of communication regarding the extensive renovations overshadowed those positives.

The rooms were clean. most of the staff were slow but friendly. The common area looked nothing like their promotional materials. It was a construction zone. The restaurant has been removed. The patio with the views of downtown was closed. the registration area was a construction zone. The elevators sounded like they needed maintenance. One night the fire department was called to free stranded guests trapped in the elevator. It is clear that management chose an income stream over their Holiday Inn Brand. Followup after our three night stay with Holiday Inn was unsatisfactory.

Worst full service Holiday Inn ever! Under major construction but no where on listing does it say that. No lobby. No restaurant. No front door. One elevator (other one only for staff) and 15 floors. Breakfast is a joke. Towels are like sand paper. We truly feel sorry for anyone who works for the owners. BUT worry not - you will still be charged full price for parking and the joke $5 plus tax amenity fee. Wow.
