Reviews
tripadvisorAs a Marriott Bonvoy member, I’ve visited several spas within Marriott properties, and unfortunately, The Spa at Griffin Gate was the most disappointing experience I’ve had.The experience started with a confirmation that listed the wrong appointment time, although when I called, the correct time was in their system. On a positive note, the staff was pleasant and accommodating, and the relaxation room was nicely appointed. A small suggestion would be to add footstools to make the space even more comfortable.Unfortunately, the locker room was dated and in need of attention. There were no secure lockers for clothing or personal belongings, only open cubbies, which was surprising for a spa at this price point. The IKEA furniture in the changing area was extremely dusty and broken in several places. Seeing the condition of the furniture immediately made me question the overall cleanliness of the spa.The massage therapist was pleasant, and her treatment room was adequate, but it had a stale smell that was noticeably different from the fresh, inviting atmosphere expected from a luxury spa.The biggest disappointment, however, was the so-called “infrared sauna.” I paid an additional $25 for 30 minutes, only to find what appeared to be a standard home-style sauna rather than the infrared experience I expected. Charging extra for this amenity felt unreasonable, especially when the steam room was included as part of the spa experience. After seeing the condition of the locker room, I didn’t feel comfortable using the steam room.Overall, The Spa at Griffin Gate fell well short of my expectations for a Marriott property, particularly given the prices charged. While the staff was friendly, the facility needs significant attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and the overall guest experience. I would not recommend this spa.
MoreI had a massage on August 6, 2025. The whole experience was low to mediocre. First, the main entrance to the facility was blocked for construction with no directions about how to get in. I drove around a few times and found the hidden side road. By that time, I was already a few minutes late. When I get to the spa, there was a group in the entrance, and one of them stops me and says I cannot go in because they are filming! When I tried to tell her that I have an appointment, she says “that is the director of the spa filming”. I do not understand why they were filming something while they had clients and the director being there means nothing to me! When I had the massage, the last 15 minutes, I felt that the massage therapist was just waiting for the clock to run out. I paid almost $250 for this!!!
MoreWhen I first went out to book my massage I was taken back a bit by the prices for the various treatments but when I read the reviews I decided I would go on amd make a reservation for a much needed massage. I’m so glad I did. Yes, it is pricey but well worth it. It is a well appointed spa, not your “spa-wanna be experience which is so often the case with hotels offering spa amenities. Monica was my massage therapist and she was great. I will definitely book future appointments with her. Very enjoyable.
MoreThis Spa is A+. Therapists are always excellent. I’ve never had anything less than a stellar therapist. Many types of treatment packages to choose from. The facility has everything to make for a top shelf experience. Special thank you to Tish Baker, the spa manager. She personally arranged for my friends and me to have our “Annual Spa Day”. She made all our arrangements and everything was spot on perfect. Thanks Tish for going above and beyond to make sure our day was 100% perfect.
MoreI recently visited The Spa at Griffin Gate with my husband for a much-needed spa getaway. We were beyond thrilled with our experience! The spa concierge was extremely helpful in booking our day of pampering. We booked a Couples Massage and Facials, as well as Manicures and Pedicures. The spa itself is gorgeous and the ultimate place to unwind. I received a Dermaplaning Facial from Jill. She is very professional and knowledgeable. My results were beyond my expectations and my skin was left glowing. If you haven’t tried Dermaplaning, this is the place to start. My husband received a Gentleman’s Facial from Vanessa and says he’s found his new favorite thing! We loved our Couples Massage as well. The spa facilities, especially the steam room were a nice added “treat” to our day of unwinding. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch and sipped mimosas. We can’t wait to go back!
