tripadvisorI went as a really young child with my family and it was one of my favorite places we went to. I found a cool pencil with rocks in it and wanted to write a review cause it was one of my favorite memories and was a really fun time. really cool
MoreMy expectations were exceeded in this museum. There is a very nice display of Chinese pieces made with different types of stone such as jade. I would say younger children might not like it except for the dioramas. The $10 admission fee is also a good value. And the people working there were all very nice and informative. Definitely worth a visit.
MoreIn this larger space, the displays are gorgeous. Take your time, read the detailed explanations, and pay attention to the fine detailed work. Its simply exquisite, imagine doing this work so many years ago, without the use of power tools. What many of us would think is “just a rock” is transformed by artists into the most beautiful objects.
MoreGreat museum, has been in Elmhurst for probably 75 yrs. Great exhibit and nice friendly people. If you like unique stone carvings and unusual gem stones, this is the place for you!
MoreThis unique museum has closed in Elmhurst and is movingto nearby Oak Brook. I am not sure when they will be reopeningbut hope to visit their new facility.
